The latest technologies are used for maximum safety and efficacy for a variety of procedures tailored to individually treat your pain. Our physicians are trained in the use of MRI, computed tomography, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy as well as radiofrequency (RF) ablation, cryoablation, neurolytic, and osteoplastic techiques.

Epidural Steroid Injections, aka "ESI's" or "Epidurals"

Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI's)
Epidural injections involve placing a needle under x-ray guidance into the epidural fat between the spinal cord and the back bone. This involves both a fast-onset but short-acting local anesthetic as well as a delayed-onset but longer-acting steroid (an anti-inflammatory medication). The medication spreads through the fat in a way that allows problems at more than one disc level to be treated at the same time.

Capabilities
Sedation during procedure
Although not usually necessary, intravenous sedation can be used during the procedure to make you more comfortable if needed.

Repeat injections
If your pain returns after the first injection, you may need an additional injection. In this case, you and your physician may decide that on this and other options.
